There are new cases of HIV infection, which according to PAHO figures, have increased by 24% in recent years, probably due to the lack of appropriate prevention measures. The goals proposed by UNAIDS for 2020 are 90% diagnosis, 90% treatment, and 90% reduction in transmission. Rapid HIV tests have a high sensitivity and specificity, so they represent an economical and safe alternative to achieve the first goal. To achieve the second goal, continuing medical education sessions should be held regarding new therapeutic alternatives, in this case, the co-formulation of Tenofovir, Lamivudine and Dolutegravir (TLD).
To achieve the third goal, patients must have universal access to treatments and receive information on new prevention strategies such as PrEP, PEP and Get Tested.
Project Once Trece invites doctors and health personnel to the first Training Day for the Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of HIV Infection, which will be held this Saturday, July 18, 2020 via Zoom for doctors and health personnel living in the State of Bolívar and aims to strengthen the weaknesses currently existing in the country.
