Medical outreach in Tacarigua de la Laguna

Last Saturday, July 13, Proyecto Once Trece a medical outreach in the small village of Brisas del Valle in Tacarigua de la Laguna, a town in Miranda State located 200 kilometers from Caracas.

Medical and healthcare professionals participated in this event, providing care to nearly 400 people—including both adults and children—and offering support in the form of medication distribution, diabetes screening, blood pressure checks, nutrition counseling, pediatric care, and internal medicine services for adults and seniors in this community.

We also discussed disease prevention and sexually transmitted infections, and distributed more than 500 free condoms.

Similarly, with the support of UNAIDS Venezuela, we were able to implement the “Get Tested” program, through which we conducted more than 100 free, confidential, and voluntary HIV tests.

This is the first of several events along the Venezuelan coast that Proyecto Once Trece scheduled for this year.
