Rapid HIV tests

A Comprehensive Strategy for the Once Trece Project

Proyecto Once Trece rapid HIV testing as part of its commitment to the community’s sexual health and well-being.

These tests are conducted both at our healthcare center and at community health fairs and hospital emergency rooms across the country, with the goal of making diagnostic services accessible to everyone who needs them and promoting early and timely detection.

Rapid HIV tests are an effective tool that, in a matter of minutes, allow users to learn their HIV status, facilitating immediate access to counseling and guidance—whether to receive support and appropriate treatment in the event of a positive result, or to reinforce education and prevention efforts in the event of a negative result.

At our testing center, tests are conducted in a confidential, safe, and respectful environment, where healthcare professionals support individuals throughout the entire process, providing clear information and emotional support. Additionally, during our community outreach events and at hospital emergency rooms across the country, we bring rapid tests directly to communities and healthcare centers, making them accessible to more remote and vulnerable populations who may have difficulty traveling to a specialized healthcare facility.

These events provide not only rapid testing, but also education and awareness-raising on prevention, treatment, and reducing the stigma associated with HIV.

The implementation of rapid HIV testing is part of Proyecto Once Trece comprehensive strategy Once Trece promote prevention, advance sexual health, and ensure that everyone has access to the diagnostic and care services they need, with the aim of contributing to the early detection of HIV and ensuring access to timely and effective treatment.
