With the intention of continuing the fight against stigma and discrimination through music, Proyecto Once Trece has created the Suena La VIHda festival.

Every December 1st, since 1988, World AIDS Day is commemorated.

The first edition of this show was held in 2021, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the discovery of HIV. Due to the success of this activity, which brings together art, culture and medicine, Project Once Trece has repeated the musical experience, which is also attended by members of national and international organizations that work in prevention and health care, as well as personalities from the national entertainment industry, with the aim of sending a powerful message of prevention, especially to the young population that will fill the theater.

The event is free and open to the public at the Concha Acústica de Bello Monte, a theatre that has served as a stage for major productions.

Suena La VIHda , more than a concert; it is a movement that celebrates the lives of those facing HIV, and those committed to fighting this condition. By combining music with prevention and awareness messages, the event creates a unique platform that allows a serious topic to be addressed in an accessible and emotionally resonant way. This concert stands out for bringing artists of mass interest and for being ABSOLUTELY FREE for open access, breaking the gap of inequality.

Reaching more than 7,000 spectators, this incredible concert manages to bring on stage the best musicians in the country belonging to the famous National System of Youth Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela, an innovative and unique program in the world, which has supported and encouraged the young population of the country to adopt music as a tool for the expression of art and culture, becoming recognized throughout the world and obtaining the Guinness record title as the largest orchestra in the world.

During the concert, a large number of audiovisuals inform the population about the advances in HIV, the meaning of i=i, which means: undetectable equals untransmittable. This concert spreads this message to reach a greater number of people who know this excellent news and to end the stigma and discrimination.

The Suena La VIHda Festival, by Proyecto Once Trece, not only aims to open spaces to contribute to HIV prevention and care, but also to offer an inclusive and quality event, where the enjoyment of cultural goods does not depend on the payment of an entrance fee. This initiative is a reality thanks to the support of institutions and producers who, from their areas, contribute to the goal of closing the gaps in a country like Venezuela, which still has the pending challenge of overcoming inequalities.

The Suena La VIHda concert is not only a message of health prevention, but also a platform that provides support to young musicians from Venezuela who are part of the National Orchestra System. This organization, known as “El Sistema,” is a national treasure and an invaluable human heritage for all Venezuelans. The National Orchestra System is a unique initiative in the world that has transformed the lives of thousands of young people in Venezuela. Founded by maestro José Antonio Abreu, this innovative program is dedicated to teaching music to children and young people from all social classes.

Through music, these young people have found opportunities, hope and a path to a brighter future. El Sistema has been internationally recognized for its impact in developing talented musicians and its contribution to global culture.

These concerts are not only a remarkable artistic expression, but also a showcase of the talent and versatility of the young musicians trained by El Sistema.

The union of music and HIV prevention in Suena La VIHda is a testament to the power of culture to address issues of social importance. Through this initiative, not only is a crucial message of prevention sent, but also support and visibility is provided to young musicians who are a national treasure and a source of pride for Venezuela.
