On June 27 and 28, 2019, the XXII National Conference on Infectology “Strategies in the approach to infections in a country in crisis” was held at the Auditorium of the Hospital de Clínicas Caracas, an event in which the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Venezuelan Society of Infectology was also celebrated.
This important convention was attended by a group of influential and prominent Venezuelan doctors who exchanged remarkable information on health matters through presentations and discussions.
Several scientific works were also entered in the competition, and the prize was awarded to him. Once Trece The award for best research on HIV was given to the winning publication, titled “Mortality in Hospitalized Patients Diagnosed with Human Immunodeficiency Virus,” conducted by the Infectious Diseases Department team at Vargas Hospital in Caracas. The authors were Doctors Carlos Pérez, Ana Guillén, Joseph González, Severis Caraballo, Estiven Silva, Manuel Guzmán Blanco, and Mario Comegna.
The award's sole objective is to stimulate national research on the topic of HIV infection.
